The Geek Partnership Society’s United Geeks of Gaming group meets up monthly for board gaming, card gaming, role-playing, and video gaming events and weekend extravaganzas. One such event is the Game Designer Session series, which meets on the second Friday and the last Tuesday of each month and invites those who have an idea for a game or who “enjoy tinkering with rules, graphic design, or game theory” to bring ideas and works in progress to be discussed and even play-tested by “game designers of all types and experience levels, from those employed in the industry to enthusiastic hobbyists.”

What: Meet-Up, Gaming
When: Friday, January 1 at 10:00 a.m.

SciFi Saturday will be hosting its fourth annual New Year’s Day Game-A-Thon this Friday, an “all-day gaming and geeking-out extravaganza!”” For a full 12 hours, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., attendees will have the opportunity to participate in “playing games, snacking, socializing, and watching your favorite science fiction and fantasy movies.” There will also be a variety of food and beverage items available throughout the day, as well as prizes, all at no cost to you (although attendees are encouraged to contribute to both the potluck buffet and to the donation jar)! As the organizers of this event ask, “What’s not to love?”

Where:  Waterbury Center

The Geek Partnership Society’s United Geeks of Gaming group offers the Open Gaming session on the first Saturday of every month, to which gamers of all ages and abilities are invited in order to “spend the day hanging out with fellow geeks playing, learning, and teaching games.” Attendees are encouraged to bring their favorite board games, card games, and/or role-playing games, but the United Geeks of Gaming have amassed an impressive library of their own games as well.

RPG Sunday Game Day
