Growing up as a gay preacher’s daughter from the South, Amanda Costner quickly learned to make people laugh, mostly through hotdogging and wearing embarrassing outfits. In 2008, she graduated from the University of Kansas with a BA in applied behavioral sciences. After spending two years playing professional golf on the LPGA Futures Tour, she retired from golf, packed up everything she owned, and moved to Chicago to study comedy.
While in Chicago, Amanda graduated from the Second City Writing and Improv Programs. Producing, writing, and performing in sketch shows with Chicago-based sketch group Blanche, she began honing her musical comedy craft. In 2015, Amanda relocated to Minneapolis and recorded her first EP with producer Drew Snyder in Toronto, Canada. It was released in April 2017 and titled LGBT Redneck.
With her partner by her side, getting to know the Twin Cities gaming scene as well as the brewery scene has been a blast. Most recently, Amanda has added standup comedy to her repertoire while continuing to play silly little songs wherever audiences crave musical humor.
