Raised with a cornfield in her backyard and cows lining the parking lot of her high school, Ali Rydberg learned about life outside of a midwestern suburb through TV and movies. She was exposed to some classic network dramas (Beverly Hills 90210, ER, Desperate Housewives) at an impressionable age, and her appetite for a will-they-or-won’t-they or poorly timed natural disaster has never let up.

Now living in St. Paul with her partner and their zoo of animals, Ali fed her love of a hearty narrative structure by earning her associate’s degree in cinema production as well as her bachelor’s in media studies and cultural development. When she is not walking her beloved pit mix, Margo, around the city or chasing after her two mischievous cats, Ali enjoys thinking and writing about how one’s palate for story informs their perspective on the world—which she shares her thoughts on in her newsletter, eavesdropper.
