Amanda M. GordonContributor (Books)

Amanda Michelle Gordon was born and raised in the Hudson Valley region of New York and moved to the Twin Cities area after completing her dual degree in sociology and journalism from SUNY New Paltz. She’s a lower-tier geek who has yet to attend a nerdy convention or a session of Dungeons & Dragons, but she was practically raised on Star Wars and got in trouble for reading more often than not.

As a writer, the highlight of her career is a toss-up between getting to cover autism treatment in Brazil with the Pulitzer Center for Crisis Reporting and the time that a person of the same name plagiarized her work in attempts to pick up women at Westchester Community College. While she’s flattered by the move, it’s one of the main reasons she insists on using her middle name for all writing projects now and hopes to see her full name on the cover of a published novel (or 11) someday.

You can easily spot Amanda wearing her Jayne hat in local libraries, used bookstores, and coffee shops. Or, if the weather permits, walking her 14-year-old pure-white Siberian husky, Niko, who only responds to promises of food.
