Twin Cities Geek engages and works to enrich our local communities in several ways.
Minnesota Conventions & Other Events
Since 2016, we have exhibited, hosted panels, and/or run event activities at:
- Anime Fusion
- CONvergence
- Gamer’s Rhapsody (now VGM Con)
- MantiCon
- MCBF/MCBA and MNCBA SpringCon and FallCon
- Minnesota Fan Fusion
- Minneapolis Institute of Art (Third Thursday)
- Minnesota Science Museum (Social Science)
- Twin Cities Con
We have also partnered directly with event organizers for community outreach:
- CONvergence (official community partner)
- Gamecraft (official media partner)
- Minnesota Crossword Tournament (official outreach partner)
And we regularly partner with local conventions and other events to give away passes and to spread the word about cool things happening in the Minnesota geek community.

Twin Cities Geek Holiday Toy & Book Drive
From 2015 through 2023, Twin Cities Geek organized an annual Holiday Toy & Book Drive to benefit individuals and families in need. Through the holiday drive, the geek community has raised thousands of toys and books for distribution through worthy local organizations.
- 2015: 12 participating locations and 504 donations
- 2016: 31 participating locations and 2,974 donations
- 2017: 40 participating locations and 4,991 donations
- 2018: 46 participating locations and 7,776 donations
- 2019: 44 participating locations and 4,302 donations
- 2020: 43 participating locations and 7,734 donations
- 2021: 49 participating locations and 6,824 donations
- 2022: 56 participating locations and 6,714 donations
- 2023: 63 participating locations and 9,639 donations

Supporting the Arts
In 2017, Twin Cities Geek rallied the local geek community to sponsor Lao American poet and playwright Saymoukda Vongsay as a fan-featured guest at CONvergence, the largest science-fiction and fantasy convention in the Upper Midwest.
Internships
In 2019, Twin Cities Geek launched a writing and editing internship program for those looking for direct training, mentorship, and/or school credit as part of their contributions to the site and those who are only interested in being involved with us for a limited time.
