Theater Mu and Urban Growler Brewing Present a Night of Asian American Storytelling
On Thursday, May 14, Theater Mu and Urban Growler Brewing Company are teaming up to provide a one-night-only “unhinged and unfiltered” megaphone for the Asian American community during Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Month. Oops, We Have Opinions! also serves as a fundraiser for Theater Mu’s Trifecta Fundraising Initiative.
Focusing on the Asian American experience, the event is emceed by Theater Mu’s Fran de Leon and Saymoukda Duangphouxay Vongsay and features comedy, personal stories, and music from a multitude of prestigious writers, poets, artists, and actors. These include David Mura, May Lee-Yang, Naomi Ko, Bao Phi, Beau Sia, Kimi Aisawa Romportl (Ensō Daiko), Greg Watanabe, Michelle de Joya, Michi Lee, Kyle Camay, and DJ Kool Akiem.

Buying a ticket supports not only Theater Mu but also local businesses and Keystone Community Services, which it will assist through its initiative. In addition to the $25 admission fee, attendees are also asked to bring a food drive item for Keystone’s food shelf. Some of the items most needed at the food shelf include nonperishable food items such as cereal, pasta, cooking staples, and baby formula.
Oops, We Have Opinions! starts at 5:30 p.m. on May 14, 2026, at Urban Growler Brewing Company in St. Paul. There is still time to get tickets on the Theater Mu website.
