Senior Editor
Contributor (Arts, Business)

Madeleine Vasaly is the co-head of the Twin Cities Geek nonprofit organization, jointly managing everything from social media to organization-wide initiatives like the annual Holiday Toy & Book Drive with founder and editor-in-chief Hal Bichel.

In addition, she brings over a decade of experience as an editor of books, comics, and news to her role as Twin Cities Geek’s senior editor. In that capacity, she edits articles for the website, manages the rest of the editorial team, and serves as the creator and keeper of the site’s official style guide. She also keeps tabs on the local bookstore scene—watch for her annual Black Friday and Indie Bookstore Day guides.

When she’s not editing or writing articles and helping steer the ship here, she works as an editor, proofreader, and publishing consultant for clients that include big commercial publishers, tiny literary presses, news outlets, nonprofits, and self-publishing authors. She is the author of The Proofreader’s Guide to Comic Book Style and served on the board of the Professional Editors Network from 2018 to 2025.

In her off-hours, Madeleine loves travel, yoga and meditation, hiking at the many parks in and around the Twin Cities metro, and coming in late to great TV shows after multiple seasons of people telling her how great they are. Find her on Bluesky.
