Katie SimningContributor (Events)

Katie Simning is an all-around nerd and media lover who has been an active part of the Minnesota event community since 2011, when she landed an internship with the Ramsey County Library and developed a book-themed multievent series. In the years since, she’s cofounded and hosted the video-game discussion series Co-Op Talk, been a co-organizer of GlitchCon, emceed game trivia at breweries, and helped to secure $250,000-plus in grant funding for nerdy events and art initiatives. Katie also frequently volunteers at local events, which have included CONvergence, NerdCon: Stories, Fright Farm, Wordplay, and the Twin Cities Book Festival.

Outside of working on events and consuming all the media, Katie spends countless hours attending concerts and creating obnoxiously long Spotify playlists. Some of her fandoms include DragonBall, Invader Zim, Supernatural, Kingdom Hearts, X-Men, Bravest Warriors, and many, many more—but she is perpetually behind, so please, no spoilers.
